Michael O'Neill MISRM
I am a Soft Tissue Therapist/Sports & Remedial Massage and Reflexologist ( MISRM) based in Dover Kent where I practice from my own clinic near Dover town centre.
I help people who have developed pain or dysfunction in their muscles through soft tissue therapy, whether through postural related problems or a sports or occupational injuries, working at my clinic in Dover.
Over the years I have learned more about how remedial massage and soft tissue therapy can help with all kinds of musculoskeletal problems, and this led me to train as a massage therapist myself, gaining a Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy/Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage – the highest available qualifications in the field, with the Oxford School of Sports Massage.
After studying many different approaches and forms of the treatments I offer I can tailor each session to your needs, I also advise on remedial exercise and stretches to aid recovery.
Please feel free to contact me on 07594 804331 or click here to email me if you have any questions.
My approach to soft tissue therapy/remedial massage
I believe it’s important to be easy to talk to and to be a good listener.
If you come to me for treatment we will start by taking a history of your symptoms to get to the bottom of your problem. This initial consultation usually lasts 75 minutes so I can take the time to get to know both, you and your injury.
Then we will set out a treatment programme for you, along with goals for improvement.
I use a variety of deep tissue massage and advanced soft tissue methods, neuro muscular massage techniques (NMT), muscle energy techniques (MET), soft tissue release (STR), positional release technique (PRT), myofascial release techniques and trigger point techniques.
I also offer advice on long term improvement through remedial exercise and can advise on nutrition to help in your recovery.
I am a registered member of ISRM (The Institute for Soft Tissue Therapists) and fully insured.
To satisfy the code of ethics and standards of the above association I am committed to continuing professional development.
